Megan participates in What I Wore Wednesday, so every week she talks about an outfit or two that she wore that week. She frequently wears colorful tights, and since I happened to have a pair of bright tights (a hand-me-along from my sisters) I finally decided to wear them. I actually shaved my legs in the middle of winter to wear the tights, which is NOT something I would normally do. I wore this outfit to church. I felt pretty daring, but I also felt really cute.
What is What I Wore Wednesday?
After reading Megan's post on The Carefully Curated Closet I realized that I needed to figure out what I wanted to look like (3. The curated closet has a vision) and get clothing that fit my vision (4. The curated closet shops with intention). When Megan mentioned that she followed some style blogs I was floored. Now, I can see my sister, Megan, doing that. But Megan from Sorta Crunchy? I think she is more like me (or me like her) and I'm not the style type. But if Megan from Sorta Crunchy can look at style blogs and feel good in her style, then maybe I can too!
Then in one of her What I Wore Wednesday posts, Megan said "I kind of wish I would have worn a belt over this top. Live and learn. (or more accurately, take outfit photos and learn.)" (emphasis added) and I was impressed to realize that you can learn about how you want to dress by taking photos of yourself.
So between looking for my new style (Not my Humboldt County style. And not my pre-mama-body-student style.) and realizing that taking photos of myself could help I am now attempting to participate in What I Wore Wednesday!
P.S. Just in case you lost count, there are three major thought processes or actions that Megan at Sorta Crunchy influenced me on through her blog. And that is just the ones related to clothing. Just in case there was any doubt about whether female bloggers are influential.
